Angela de Oliveira, PRESIDENT Angela de Oliveira was born and raised in Brazil, where she studied classical piano from age seven. She came to the U.S. to attend Trinity College and Catholic University, where she earned a Master’s degree in math with a minor in music. She married in the U.S., and raised two children. After twice moving the family to Latin America and back, following her husband’s career, she joined a human resources consulting firm, where she worked as a pension actuary for 27 years, advising multinational corporations regarding their employee benefit programs. She retired in 2006, joined Bainbridge Chorale in 2007, and was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2008. Angela has always enjoyed singing in groups, beginning with glee clubs and high school groups during the first bossa-nova years in Brazil. She is passionate about fine music in all forms – from classical to folk and jazz, instrumental, choral and symphonic. Currently Angela also works as a volunteer Computer Literacy Tutor for the Kitsap Regional Library, and as a land steward for the Great Peninsula Conservancy. She walks with Bainbridge Striders, swims with Bainbridge Masters and serves as treasurer of their Booster Club. She lives with her husband Bill Woods and their three dogs on Fletcher Bay.
