Anne Pell, accompanist

Anne has lived on Bainbridge Island for almost 15 years. As a child she studied piano, voice, and music theory at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge MA. She has been a working accompanist since age 12, playing for high school musicals, school and church choirs, the Bainbridge Violin Studio, and various vocal and instrumental soloists. Anne has accompanied the Bainbridge Chorale for 7 years, and performed with them at Benaroya Hall in 2003.

Anne completed her BFA degree in piano performance in May 2005 at Cornish College of the Arts, graduating summa cum laude. She wrote all of the music performed at her senior recital, including a flute and piano suite, two choral works, a series of piano duets, and several jazz tunes. Anne teaches piano full-time, offering lessons in classical, jazz, and blues piano. She also teaches jazz ensemble workshops with an emphasis on youth ensembles. She gigs on a regular basis, playing solo or with her jazz trio. She continues to compose music and is currently writing a music theory book.
