Karen Rice, Manager and Education Coordinator

Karen Rice spent ten years as the Education Director of OPERA America, the international service organization for all the opera companies in the world. She was part of a team of educators and professional musicians creating a textbook series, MUSIC, WORDS, OPERA, a curriculum designed to help young people in grades K-12 discover the power of the arts through a hands-on experience with opera - a humanities approach to the art form. Karen was also Personnel Director at Swedish Hospital for nine years. She presently serves as manager and education coordinator of the Bainbridge Chorale, archivist of BPA and director of Side By Side. A retired alto, she lives in Poulsbo and loves to hear the Chorale sing.
