Angie Godfrey was appointed Artistic Director of the Olympic Girls’ Choir in July 2018, after serving as Associate Director of Youth Programs since January 2018.  She is excited to build on the success of her predecessor Laura Milleson, bringing energy and passion to the mission of developing vocal skills and confidence in girls’ choir singers. In September 2019 the youth program was renamed the Olympic Youth Choir and opened to boys as well as girls.

Angie  has loved making music with her students. She is inspired daily by their curiosity and their individual talents that are the best inspiration a teacher could find.  Angie feels strongly that developing music in our youth is crucial to the overall growth and confidence that a child needs as they find their way in the world. Students are able to feel good about themselves while creating a connection with their community.

Angie has over 15 years of experience directing musical groups of all ages.  While living in California’s Bay area, Angie taught Music in the Cupertino Union School District. She directed Music in Elementary Orff Music, Middle School Band, Choir and Musical Theatre. Since moving to Bainbridge Island 6 years ago, Angie has been the Music Specialist at Montessori Country School which offers instruction to ages Preschool to 6th Grade. She is also an active member in the Bainbridge Chorale and has worked in a supportive role with the Olympic Girls’ Choir for the past two years.
